Full-time Garden Centre Sales Assistant

We are currently seeking a full-time Sales Assistant to join our friendly team working here at the garden centre.
You will have excellent customer service skills and know how to assist our customers, be it using your previous knowledge from other jobs or by learning from staff and training whilst working here. Your passion for our products and our customers is paramount.
You will potentially be working across all areas of the store (excluding the restaurant) and, amongst other things, will be involved in unpacking deliveries, labelling products, stocking shelves, some merchandising and, of course, being the final point of contact for our customers on the tills. You will, therefore, require a flexible approach to work, with the ability to switch from one activity to another quickly to cater for the daily demands within the garden centre.
Ideally you will have some previous experience in a customer-facing role, however, enthusiasm, good communication skills and the ability to be a team member are really the key requisites.
Computer skills would also be an advantage (Excel, Word etc.) as you will also be trained then tasked with updating information on our EPOS system as and when required.
You also need to be aware that, occasionally, you will be be required to handle heavy items, for example, when unloading deliveries or assisting customers and you will also be on your feet a lot of the day so please consider this before applying.
The working hours are: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm Sunday 10.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday (one day off per week to be agreed) & alternate weekends.
